How long would our legacy endure? The author says that we've basically become a volcano that hasn't stopped erupting since the 1700s. The Hollywood Reporter announced that Fox has hired Lawrence to direct a feature film version of Alan Weisman's book, The World Without Us. A couple years ago I heard about a book that was guaranteed to catch my eye, Alan Weisman's “The World Without Us“. A few weeks ago a very interesting book caught my attention, The World Without Us by Allen Weisman. Hiking, to me, means escaping social media, escaping the internet, and escaping human social presence. The book explores a world in which humans suddenly cease to exist on our planet. In today's world there is more CO2 floating around in the world than there ever was in the past 650,000 years. Hiking is actually among the most radical forms of anthrodecentrism in that it's an immersion into a “world without us.”. Another good documentary w/ a similar aim is The World Without Us (netflix) that looks at what would happen if the US took an isolationist stance on foreign policy.
